Miyawaki Thermostatic Steam Traps identify steam and condensate by the temperature difference. They use either a bimetal element or "Dia-Thermo" membrane to operate the valve mechanism.  Both type of traps are pressure balanced to adjust the condensate discharge temperature at all operating pressures.
